It is shocking to see that fantasy football has become more of an important game than the actual game of football. People look at football nowadays as "how many points did he get this week" or "lets trade players". I was born into the game of football and ever since I was a child I loved the game. One thing that I will never get involved in is Fantasy Football because it takes away from the nature of the game itself. "Fans" these days are only interested in the outcome of their fantasy football teams rather than their actual hometown team or team of their choice. I put quotes around the word fans because they do not deserve to be called fans because of the turnout they have created for the game of football.
I will use a real like experience that happened this past weekend to defend my argument. I am a big Detroit Lions football fan and hate fantasy football as you can see. I was watching the game this weekend with a few friends and throughout the game they were switching channels trying to see scores and updates from other games to see how their fantasy team was doing. They also had three laptops lined up on different games that refreshed automatically every ten seconds to see statistics. People need to begin to realize that fantasy football ruins the enjoyment and passion that fans originally had for the game rather than the excitement people have trying to win money through fantasy football.
